De-Duplication of Email and User Files

RenewData's de-duplication process uses industry standard hashing algorithms to calculate the digital fingerprint of email and user files and those items with the same fingerprint are considered to be duplicates. Within a set of duplicate items, the item processed first is the survivor, while subsequent copies are suppressed.

RenewData's de-duplication of email and user files can be performed in a variety of methods to meet requirements including:

  • De-Duplication within Target User
This method yields one unique instance of an email message for each target user and yields one unique instance of a user file for each directory or target user.

  • Global De-Duplication
This method yields one unique instance of an email message across the entire population. The first unique message survives, while subsequent messages are suppressed. This method also yields one unique instance of a user file across the entire population of user files.
