Supervised Data Collection

Supervised Data Collection is a method used to capture data from file and email servers onto easily portable media without having to shut down your network. This collection method entails a RenewData expert supervising your IT team while making a full backup and includes verification of electronic information into a consistent tape backup platform (for example ARCserve, Backup Exec, or NT Native).

In this approach, all metadata and folder structures at the time of the backup are captured, and data is preserved in an unalterable media type. Once completed, the RenewData expert takes immediate possession of the media under chain-of-custody procedures.
